Preparing for dance auditions! ❤

Preparing for dance auditions! ❤
Created in the Polyvore iPhone app. http://www.polyvore.com/iPhone

Hey, girlies! Keily here! I've been really inactive lately, huh? Well, I'm sorry about that! :/

Anyways, next week, I'm auditioning for the dance team at my school! Exciting, eh? It's my first time auditioning, and I'm extremely nervous and excited. However, I'm confident that I'll make it!

Now, I know what you're thinking. If this is my first time auditioning, what do I know? Well, I actually know an awful lot, considering that most of my best friends are in the dance team, I was a studio dancer, and I've been preparing for these auditions since January. Also, today, I attended a mandatory meeting for all those who are auditioning, and I got information on the auditions.

1. Ask questions. Don't be afraid to go up to the dance coach to ask her questions. Not only will you get answers, but she'll see that you're really interested in this, which might mean bonus points!

2. Go to any meetings that you need to go to before the auditions. In these meetings, you'll find out what will happen if you make it, what will happen during the auditions, how long the auditions last, ect. These meetings are extremely important!

3. Ask members of the team for advice. Ask them what the coach likes and what you should do in order to make it.

4. Prepare yourself physically. If you know that the coach likes flexibility and girls that know how to do turns, practice all of that at home!

5. Look at yourself in the mirror while you dance and tell yourself that you're great! This is a big confidence booster!

6. Find someone to audition with. It's always great to have a buddy by your side at auditions, but while actually auditioning, pay no mind to them. Pay attention to what YOU'RE doing.

7. Know what you have to wear. If possible, try to obtain clothes that you can move in. Not pajamas. Maybe leggings and a t-shirt. It depends what type of audition it is. If it's a school audition, just wear leggings and a t-shirt or if you have dance clothes, wear that!

8. Prepare a bag. Obviously, you can't go to a dance audition unprepared. If its a school dance audition, pack a bag with your clothes, shoes, bobby pins, hairspray, hair ties, perfume, a brush, and other stuff! You want to go to the auditions looking as clean as possible. If it's a studio audition, wear dance clothes and take all the things I mentioned above, minus the clothes.

9. Be confident and have fun. Duh! Smile while you're dancing and practice at home! You could be nervous, but confidence is key!

I hope this helps!

Stay lovely.

Surviving your first year of middle school ♥
For those of you who follow @the-tip-girls-of-neverlan and read my tips on there, you probably know that I'm 12, which means that I'm now finishing up my first year of middle school! Now, middle school may sound scary, but it's not. It's actually simpler and better than elementary (in my opinion).

Actual school:

You might have 6 classes a day, or block schedule every day like I do. Switching classes might actually be hard because people push you around, but you'll get used to it. Be nice to your teachers and study hard.

Don't goof around in the hallways, chances are teachers in the classes will hear you, and you'll get in trouble.

Don't overdecorate your locker. It looks nice, but you'll probably get bullied. It's all coming off at the end of the year anyways, right?

Relationships:

Middle school relationships don't tend to work out. So please don't expect them too.

Now, your relationship with your friends should be just as it was in elementary. Don't be too clingy, give them space, and be a part of different groups. Having friends from different cliques and clubs can be fun, and it'll be an advantage too, considering that you might not have all your classes with your normal group of friends.

Teachers:

You have 6, 7, or 8 now. You're not gonna like all of them, trust me. Nonetheless, you should still treat them with respect and do well in their classes.

Clubs:

Join some! It'll be fun and you'll meet new people.

Bullies:

Stay away from them. They will be all over the place in your school, trust me. They're a waste of time, stay with your group and ignore the bullies if you can.

Try to handle problems on your own rather than go to the school counselor. This'll make the bully bully you more.

School activities:

Behave well at school activities, but have fun at them! At my school, we've had two field days, a dance every semester, and a ton of other stuff. I make the most of them! You're in middle school, this isn't going to last forever, so have fun!

This tip was all over the place, but whatever.

I hope it helped!

Stay lovely.

Falling asleep easily. ♥

Falling asleep easily. ♥
Sorry for the inactivity! I've been caught up on the other accounts that I'm on!

1. Get cozy. Get in bed and make sure that you're not too hot or too cold. Make sure that you're hydrated and don't have to pee!

2. Change the lighting. Since strong lights make your body think that it's daylight, your body won't want to go to sleep. Put a nightlight in your hallway so the glow isn't as strong, dim your lighting, or just sleep in complete darkness like I do. Make sure that your shades/curtains are tightly shut!

3. Use earplugs, or listen to music or soothing noises while trying to sleep. Use earplugs so you won't hear anything. If you want the music or soothing noises, make sure that it's audible, but not loud.

4. Relax. Clear your mind of all thoughts, and loosen your muscles.

5. If you can't sleep, try reading! Read something that's boring or that calms you.

6. Use your imagination to think of something soothing or try to tell yourself a bedtime story with your mind.

7. Count how many breaths you take, not sheep. Sheep don't help me nor do they help many people that I know. Try counting your breaths quietly in your mind.

8. Try self-hypnosis. Tell your self to loosen your muscles and control your thoughts and breathing. When you have done this, close your eyes and think "The deeper I go, the more I want to fall asleep." I do this, and it really helps!

9. If you're an insomniac, or you're just restless that night, get out of bed, pace your room, do pilates. Do something that will tire you out a bit, but won't get you super hyper.

That's it!

Stay lovely and well-rested!

Obtaining bikini confidence.

One month ago - 1,150 views
Obtaining bikini confidence.
Obtaining bikini confidence ain't that easy girls. But, with hard work, you can definitely do it!

Here are some steps to being bikini confident!

1. Don't compare yourself to any other girl at the pool/beach. I know that this is what we girls do best, but don't do it. You are beautiful. You are better than no one and no one is better than you.

2. Love your bikini. You obviously have to like your bikini in order to be able to want to be seen in it. So, if you fall in love with a bathing suit, buy it!

3. Tell yourself that you are beautiful, because you are! If you think that you're beautiful, others will too!

4. Don't be shy! Don't feel awkward when taking off your summer dress at the beach! Take it all off and show off your perfect body!

5. Listen to confident-boosting music! Some examples include: "Beautiful" By Christina Aguilera, "Beautiful" By Akon, "All I Need" By Tom Felton, "Beautiful Girls" By Sean Kingston, "Crush" By David Archuleta, "Don't Stop Believing" By Journey, "F**kin Perfect" By PINK, "Favorite Girl" By Justin Beiber, "California Girls" By Katy Perry, "I'm Awesome" By Spose, "Just a Dream" By Nelly, "Sexy Back" By Justin Timberlake, "She's No You" By Jesse McCartney, "Whip My Hair" By Willow Smith, "Dangerous" By Akon.

6. Have good posture. Standing straight with your stomach sucked in will make you look better and will enhance your curves!

7. Remember that others worry about their bodies, so they probably won't be looking at yours. Let's face it. It's true.

That's it!

Guys, please follow my tip account @sunkissed-tipsters! I'd really appreciate it!

Stay lovely and confident!

Toning your thighs ♥

Toning your thighs ♥
Hey, girls! Keily here! Sorry my activity levels have been so low, I've been getting my tip account ready and tipping on the-tip-girls-of-neverlan

Well, here's my tip on toning your thighs!

- Avoid eating greasy foods. This will go straight to your thighs!

- Drink lots of water. Yes, of course it helps! Toning your thighs means turning fat into muscle, and you need water to do that!

- Do the squat challenge. The squat challenge is simple. On Day 1 you start with 30 to 40 squats, and each day you increase by 2 or 5. This will make your thighs thinner and tone them as well.

- Leg lifts. Lay on your side, point your toes, and lift your leg up and down! Do at least 20 on each leg.

- Wall sit. Stand with your fit shoulder width apart and pretend to sit on a chair and hold it. It will hurt, but bring you fast results!

- Lunges. I'm not explaining this because I'm sure you know of them. It tones your thighs and butt!

- Inner thigh stretch. Sit up straight. Bend both knees out, bringing the bottoms of the feet together. Gently hold on to the toes or the tops of the feet, which will be turned out, and bring the feet closer to your body. Hold for five to 10 seconds.

That's all for now!

Stay lovely (and toned XD).

Top Five Fitness Tips ♥

One month ago - 1,402 views
Top Five Fitness Tips ♥
ahhh goodness! we've been so inactive lately, and i'm so sorry for that! anyway, on to the tip. p.s. this will probably be up on @b4liteens-x0 later today, and you might see it twice, as i tip there too. ♥

O1. WATER.
Your body retains so much water weight, so if you drink a lot of water, you will be able to see some quicker results.

O2. Don't eat heavy meals towards the end of the day.
If you eat heavier meals at night, when you sleep, your metabolism slows down, so the food isn't properly metabolized.

O3. Avoid simple carbohydrates.
You may have heard that "carbs are bad" and "don't eat carbs," but really, your body needs complex carbohydrates to give you energy and keep all your functions working. Try whole grains, and they're also found in fruits and veggies.

O4. Fat-Metabolizing Foods.
Cinnamon, Turmeric, Chilis, Hot Sauce, Grapefruit, Green Tea, Yogurt, Almonds, Coffee (moderation), Turkey, Spinach, Beans, Broccoli, Oatmeal

O5. Circuit Training.
Set up a routine that alternates aerobics, core exercises, arms, legs, etc. This way all of your body is being engaged without overworking any one part at any time.

love always,

Movie Review : The Call

Movie Review : The Call
Okay, can we take the time to acknowledge Halle Berry and how amazing she acted in this film? Thank you.

Last Friday, I went to go watch this movie with my sister and my mom.

It's rated R mostly because there is violence, mild cursing, and straight out creepiness.

In a nutshell, the movie is about a 911 operator named Jordan (Halle Berry) who is always calm and collected when talking to the person reporting a problem. She is amazing at her job, and loves doing it. This all changed when she gets a call from a teenage girl who is home alone and is being abducted by a sadistic killer.

Scared off from her job, she becomes a teacher at the 911 facility also known as "the hive", and she trains newbie 911 operators. Later on, Jordan receives a call from a panicking teenager named Cacey (Abigail Breslin) who is being abducted by a man who fits the name personality that scarred Jordan's life.

This movie was intense. I absolutely loved it. It's a bit creepy, but it was one of the best thrillers I've seen in a while.

All of the actors acted beautifully, which really brought the movie to life.

I give this movie a 9.9 out of 10. I highly recommend it!

I hope you enjoyed my review, and if you've seen the movie, please don't hesitate to leave your opinions on it in the comments below! (:

Stay lovely.
